Reds over the Mets at (+110). The Mets are one of the poorest performing teams right now to watch night in and night out. They have talent on the team which can come up big on any given night (so be careful not going too big when playing against them) but I like the Reds getting money in this one. The Red’s aren’t necessarily a great ballclub but I think they are better than the Mets right now and they actually played pretty well last night in their loss to the streaking Phillies.

Padres over the Diamondbacks at (+150). Today we’re choosing from a matchup between two of the worst defensive and offensive teams in the National League. In addition to being a matchup between two weak teams, the Padres and Dbacks both have less than their best going on the mound tonight with Walter Silva throwing for San Diego and Jon Garland throwing for Arizona. SlickPicker is going with the road underdog Padres at +150. Both teams and pitchers have had their difficulties but we feel Walter Silva and the Padres have the best shot of taking this one and are getting great money at +150.

Phillies over the Braves at (-108). SlickPicker called it right last night with a +175 road underdog win. Stay with us tonight and keep it rolling. Cole Hamels had an uncharacteristically bad start his last time out as he seems to have briefly lost his composure. We think this competitive all-star will be anxious to get back out on the mound and take command of the game. The defending champs with their ace on the mound should be a lock against the Braves.

White Sox over the Cleveland Indians at (+175). After a brief hiatus from free picks of the day, Slickpicker is back to bring you today’s free pick of the day. The White Sox are huge road underdogs tonight as they try to win game 2 in their series against the Cleveland Indians. The White Sox have looked sharp as of late which is a lot more than you can say about the slumping Indians who have dropped 11 of their last 13. Despite the fact that the Indians have their ace going tonight in Cliff Lee, Slickpicker thinks +175 is a bargain for the White Sox in this matchup.

Phillies over the Devil Rays at (+120). The defending champ Phillies face off in the decisive game 3 of their series with the DRays this afternoon. The Drays bounced back last night after losing 10-1 in the opener on Tuesday. Evan Longoria is doubtful to play after going out with soreness in his hamstring last night. The Rays have Andy Sonnanstine going on the mound who struggled in his last outing. It’s also worth mentioning that Sonnanstine struggled during his last outing against the Phillies which just happens to have been Game 4 of the World Series last year when he gave up 5 runs in 4 innings during the 10-2 shellacking.

Braves over the Yankees as (+120). SlickPicker nailed it last night with the Dodgers over the White Sox. No surprise there. We’re staying with interleague play tonight and are taking the Braves over the Yankees at (+120). The Yankees haven’t been able to figure out the unfamiliar NL pitchers during their current interleague stretch of games. The Yankees only managed to put together 4 hits in last night’s defeat against the Braves in the series opener. The Yankees have lost 5 of their last 6 games against unfamiliar NL pitchers. We think the Yankees will struggle again tonight.

The Dodgers over the White Sox at (+106). The SlickPicker free MLB play of the day is the Dodgers over the White Sox. The White Sox are one of the softest hitting teams in the league and the Dodgers are superior in almost every statistical category. This is a clear cut case of the NL’s best going up against a sub-500 AL team. Home field advantage for the White Sox shouldn’t be enough for them to be the favorites in this one.

After the huge underdog hit of the Mets over the Yankees on Saturday (+185), SlickPicker.com took Sunday off from making a free post and of course didn’t see any action for free picks out of either of the two games last night. For tonight, SlickPicker.com is going to give you one free pick in the form of an underdog and one free pick in the form of a favorite:

Astros over Rangers +125. The Astros have won five consecutive series since snapping their season-high losing streak and seem to be playing some of their best baseball right now. The Astros will have Wandy Rodriguez going on the mound today who has been by far their best starter this year.

The Baltimore Orioles over the New York Mets at (-123). The Mets are coming off their most lopsided loss in almost 9 years, and are easily the most injury plagued team in baseball right now. The latest addition to the Mets’ list of fallen soldiers is Gary Sheffield who will be getting an MRI today on his sore right knee (although the Mets are saying he will still play). The Orioles seem to be back on their game coming off two quality wins in Atlanta against the Braves. The Orioles should be able to take this won easily in Camden Yards.

6/11/2009 Free MLB Play. 2 Free Plays

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

Congratulation to our visitors who played SlickPicker’s free picks from last night as both picks were big winners (Cardinals and Twins). Today, 6/11/2009, on a big sports night (NBA Finals game 4, Stanley Cup game 7) SlickPicker is going to stay away from the championship series in NHL and NBA and will instead give you 2 more MLB free plays. They are as follows:

Cincinnati Reds over the Washington Nationals at (+116). Micah Owings is a talented pitcher who should be able to take care of business against the worst team in the league (Nationals). Although he is 0-4 in his last 5 games (with 1 no-decision) he has been pitching well but just hasn’t been getting any run support (he’s had 5 total runs of support in those last 5 games). The Nationals have dropped 24 of their last 29 and are really a bad ball club. I love the Reds here as an underdog.

Minnesota Twins over the Oakland A’s at (-105). The Twins have finally come out of their offensive slump in the last two games and look to keep it going today in the 4 game series finale. The A’s will be throwing their rookie Trevor Cahill who has been shaky this year. The Twins will be throwing Nick Blackburn who’s been pitching great with a 3-0 1.33 ERA mark in his last 4 starts.

6/10/2009 MLB Free Pick from SlickPicker

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

Tough one run loss last night for the SlickPicker free pick. We’re going to give you two free plays today; one dog and one slight favorite. The first one is the slight favorite and is going to be the St Louis Cardinals over the Florida Marlins at (-115). The Cardinals are in their worst slump of the season and have lost their last 5 in a row. The Cardinals are too experienced, competitive, and well-coached to let this losing skid go much further. We think the losing streak stops tonight with a quality start from the Cardinals’ Adam Wainwright.

The underdog we like today is the Minnesota Twins over the Oakland Athletics at (+115). The Twins offense has been struggling this month but they may have come out of it last night with their 10-5 victory over the A’s, snapping their league high 7-game winning streak. The Twins are 8-0 when scoring at least 8 runs and 7 out of those 8 times the Twins have followed their 8+run victory with a win the next day/night. We’re playing the percentages tonight banking that the Twins will follow their 2009 trends.
