6/11/2009 Free MLB Play. 2 Free Plays

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

Congratulation to our visitors who played SlickPicker’s free picks from last night as both picks were big winners (Cardinals and Twins). Today, 6/11/2009, on a big sports night (NBA Finals game 4, Stanley Cup game 7) SlickPicker is going to stay away from the championship series in NHL and NBA and will instead give you 2 more MLB free plays. They are as follows:

Cincinnati Reds over the Washington Nationals at (+116). Micah Owings is a talented pitcher who should be able to take care of business against the worst team in the league (Nationals). Although he is 0-4 in his last 5 games (with 1 no-decision) he has been pitching well but just hasn’t been getting any run support (he’s had 5 total runs of support in those last 5 games). The Nationals have dropped 24 of their last 29 and are really a bad ball club. I love the Reds here as an underdog.

Minnesota Twins over the Oakland A’s at (-105). The Twins have finally come out of their offensive slump in the last two games and look to keep it going today in the 4 game series finale. The A’s will be throwing their rookie Trevor Cahill who has been shaky this year. The Twins will be throwing Nick Blackburn who’s been pitching great with a 3-0 1.33 ERA mark in his last 4 starts.

6/10/2009 MLB Free Pick from SlickPicker

SlickPicker.com

Tough one run loss last night for the SlickPicker free pick. We’re going to give you two free plays today; one dog and one slight favorite. The first one is the slight favorite and is going to be the St Louis Cardinals over the Florida Marlins at (-115). The Cardinals are in their worst slump of the season and have lost their last 5 in a row. The Cardinals are too experienced, competitive, and well-coached to let this losing skid go much further. We think the losing streak stops tonight with a quality start from the Cardinals’ Adam Wainwright.

The underdog we like today is the Minnesota Twins over the Oakland Athletics at (+115). The Twins offense has been struggling this month but they may have come out of it last night with their 10-5 victory over the A’s, snapping their league high 7-game winning streak. The Twins are 8-0 when scoring at least 8 runs and 7 out of those 8 times the Twins have followed their 8+run victory with a win the next day/night. We’re playing the percentages tonight banking that the Twins will follow their 2009 trends.

6/9/2008 MLB Free Play Phillies vs. Mets

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

Just like we called it here at SlickPicker, Jose Contreras got his first win of the season last night for the Chicago Whitesox with a great 8 inning 1 hit performance. SlickPicker keeps on rolling and looks to keep it going tonight. The SlickPicker free play of the day is the Philladelphia Phillies over the New York Mets at (+144). The Mets have taken 3 of 4 against the Phillies this year and have their stud Johan Santana going tonight (hence them being such big favorites), however, the Mets are pretty battered and bruised right now and won’t have an easy time going against the Phillies’ J.A. Happ who has been picthing very well this year and is coming off throwing 7 scoreless innings last week. The Phillies may steal this one.

6/8/2009 MLB Free Play of the Day

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker’s free pick of the day is the Chicago Whitesox in game 2 of their double header against the Detroit Tigers at (-105). You can call this free pick a hunch as Jose Contreras has been terrible this year but the home team generally has a big advantage in the 2nd game of double headers.

6/5/2009 MLB Free Play from SlickPicker

SlickPicker’s MLB free play of the day is the Milwaukee Brewers over the Atlanta Braves at (-105). The Brew Crew should be the favorite here as they are a superior ballclub in almost every category, however, the Braves have been playing well at home and are therefore getting the benefit of the doubt from the lines-makers while playing at home. We like the Brewers in this one not only because we feel they are a better ball club, but also the Brewers have their strong young arm going in Gallardo who has been very tough to hit. The better team with the better pitching should be able to override the Braves home field advantage in this one. Take the Brewers.

6/4/2009 MLB Free Play – SlickPicker

SlickPicker has decided to offer two free plays of the day. Both BIG underdogs and plays we REALLY like. We like the Chicago Cubs over the Atlanta Braves at (+127) as well as the Brewers over the Marlins at (+145).
We like how both the Cubs and Brewers have been performing on the 3rd game of the series on the road. Also, the Braves are a little lighter than most with their at-home winning percentage. Also, the Marlins are flat out shaky at home with a below .500 winning percentage at-home.

SlickPicker Free MLB Play of the Day, 6/3/2009

Royals over the D-Rays (+127). The Free Play of the Day from Slickpicker is the Royals over the D-Rays. The Royals are on a 5 game slide but are hoping that Bannister, who’s pitched well this year, can end that tonight against the D-Rays. Bannister is going up against Jeff Niemann from the Rays who struggled in his last start.

6/2/2009 – Free MLB Picks – One Time Special – Members Only Picks

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

www.Slickpicker.com is offering a special today on its website. Four MLB “Members Only” picks are being displayed today for free. Make sure to tell your friends about this one-time special. The picks are:

Arizona over the Dodgers (+105). We like the pitching matchup here. Dan Haren will handle business against Randy Wolf.

Cubs over the Braves (+107). The Cubs are playing better as of late and the Braves are having a tough stretch. Injuries are piling up for the Braves, they’re 2-5 in their last 7 games, and their bullpen has been over-worked recently averaging almost 4 innings per game in their last 3 game series.

Red Sox over the Tigers (+125). We’re going with the pitching matchup here again as Becket should be able to get his 6th win of the season over Armando Galarraga of the Tigers.

Cardinals over the Reds (-123). We called this one wrong yesterday despite convincing indicators. Here’s what happened: Volquez on his first start back from the DL went out in the first inning with numbness in his hand. The Reds then threw 5 relievers in the next 8 innings to combine for a pretty quality pitching performance. The Reds got their big 3 runs in the 4th, after two outs, on a couple grounders through the infield. All in all, the Reds had to work very hard and catch a few breaks to win last night’s game and we’re not seeing them repeating that performance tonight.

6/1/2009 Cardinals vs. Reds Free MLB Play

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

Cardinals over the Reds (-122). The SlickPicker Free Play of the Day is the Cardinals over the Reds. The Cards are playing well at home and have dropped only one of their last 6 in their ballpark. The Reds on the other hand do not play well on the road and have dropped their last 5 in opposing ballparks. Furthermore, the Reds have particular trouble in St. Louis and have lost their last 5 games there.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Indians Free Pick

SlickPicker.com

SlickPicker.com

Today’s pick is the Rays over the Indians at (-116). Take the favorites here. The Rays have the best offensive production in the league and should be able to score enough runs off of Huff (17.55 ERA) to be able to take this one. The Rays dropped one to the Indians yesterday and I think that is whats keeping this line so low at (-116) as opposed to (-150)’ish which would probably be more appropriate. Good Luck and Enjoy!
