They have talent on the team which can come up big on any given night (so be careful not going too big when playing against them) but I like the Reds getting money in this one. The Red’s aren’t necessarily a great ballclub but I think they are better than the Mets right now and they actually played pretty well last night in their loss to the streaking Phillies.

Padres over the Diamondbacks at (+150). Today we’re choosing from a matchup between two of the worst defensive and offensive teams in the National League. In addition to being a matchup between two weak teams, the Padres and Dbacks both have less than their best going on the mound tonight with Walter Silva throwing for San Diego and Jon Garland throwing for Arizona. Phillies over the Braves at (-108). SlickPicker called it right last night with a +175 road underdog win. Stay with us tonight and keep it rolling. Cole Hamels had an uncharacteristically bad start his last time out as he seems to have briefly lost his composure. We think this competitive all-star will be anxious to get back out on the mound and take command of the game. The defending champs with their ace on the mound should be a lock against the Braves.

Phillies over the Devil Rays at (+120). The defending champ Phillies face off in the decisive game 3 of their series with the DRays this afternoon. The Drays bounced back last night after losing 10-1 in the opener on Tuesday. Evan Longoria is doubtful to play after going out with soreness in his hamstring last night. The Rays have Andy Sonnanstine going on the mound who struggled in his last outing. It’s also worth mentioning that Sonnanstine struggled during his last outing against the Phillies which just happens to have been Game 4 of the World Series last year when he gave up 5 runs in 4 innings during the 10-2 shellacking.

Braves over the Yankees as (+120). SlickPicker nailed it last night with the Dodgers over the White Sox. No surprise there. We’re staying with interleague play tonight and are taking the Braves over the Yankees at (+120). The Yankees haven’t been able to figure out the unfamiliar NL pitchers during their current interleague stretch of games. The Yankees only managed to put together 4 hits in last night’s defeat against the Braves in the series opener. The Yankees have lost 5 of their last 6 games against unfamiliar NL pitchers. The Blue Jays over the Phillies at (+152). The Phillies couldn’t hold the Blue Jays again last night as the Jays put up 8 runs against them. It’s not likely that the Phillies’ Joe Blanton will be able to do much better today against the streaky Jays to avoid the sweep. The Jays are putting Brad Mills on the mound for his major league debut today. Mills is one of their top pitching prospects but hasn’t been posting great numbers in the minors so far, however, we’re going to give this kid the benefit of the doubt that he’ll have his best stuff going today with it being his first chance to pitch on the big stage. Take the Jays to complete the sweep today.

 
The Mariners over the Padres at (EVEN). The Padres have dropped their last 24 of 28 interleague games. Are you kidding me?!? That’s the worst interleague record in all of baseball. Not to mention, the Padres are currently on a 5 game losing streak. These guys are really struggling and there’s not much to convince me that it won’t continue today. The Padres are throwing Josh Geer who is in the rotation for the injured Jake Peavy. Last Saturday, which was Geer’s last start, he allowed a career-worst seven runs and nine hits in just 5 innings. Look for the Mariners to complete the sweep.

The Baltimore Orioles over the New York Mets at (-123). The Mets are coming off their most lopsided loss in almost 9 years, and are easily the most injury plagued team in baseball right now. The latest addition to the Mets’ list of fallen soldiers is Gary Sheffield who will be getting an MRI today on his sore right knee (although the Mets are saying he will still play). The Orioles seem to be back on their game coming off two quality wins in Atlanta against the Braves. The Orioles should be able to take this won easily in Camden Yards.
