BYU must replace 2008 starter Max Hall and have freshman Jake Heaps and Utah St transfer Riley Nelson who will share reps at the position.
The BYU Cougars also lost senior running back Harvey Unga who was kicked off the team during the off season.
The Cougars from Provo Utah will also have to replace 6 starters to their defense.
BYU had trouble dealing with the speed of Florida St last season surrendering 54 points on their home field and Washington is quick footed.
